Josh, a third year graduate student, is using both numerical modeling and satellite observations to examine the onset and probability of maritime precipitation given different cloud and environmental characteristics. He received a B.S. in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma in 2010. His research interests include remote sensing of clouds and precipitation, cloud-aerosol-precipitation interactions, exploring the mutually beneficial relationship between numerical modeling and observations of cloud-precipitation systems, and meteorological applications for renewable energy. In his free time he enjoys cycling, reading and exploring the great outdoors in as many ways as possible.
