Quandary Peak Trip, 17 July 2007

Julia's first fourteener!

We had the great pleasure of hosting Julia for a month in July, and what better way to hang out with your relatives than by taking them climbing? We camped out on Monday night near Lake Dillon, CO, and got up early the next day for the drive to Quandary Peak (14,265 ft.), south of Breckinridge, CO. Quandary was the last peak in the Tenmile/Mosquito range for me to climb, and makes for a great first fourteener.

We hit the trailhead around 7:30am, and summited via the East Ridge route at 11:20am. Julia just stormed up the mountain (you'd think she grew up in Colorado or something :) and I had a great time photographing the Wangberg Sisters at the summit of their first fourteener together. We had great weather up and down the peak, and enjoyed a fine day in the high mountains of Colorado!
