India Trip 2009

Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Agra, New Delhi

The CloudSat Education Network (CEN) has eight schools in the Punjab region of India, and in April 2009, a team of CloudSat personnel consisting of myself, Nan McClurg, and West Vane went out to visit with our CEN teachers and students, and accompanied them to an Earth Day Youth Forum held in New Delhi. In between our school visits and the youth confence, Nan and I attended an Asia-Pacific Regional meeting of GLOBE country coordinators in Agra. I gave ten separate talks between the schools and the various meetings and conferences, and was never anything less than amazed by the dedication and brilliance of our students in India. We were greatly helped by Mrs. Ravleen Singh and Dr. Anand Gupta of the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, and owe much of our success as a program in India to their tireless efforts. I can't wait to get back to Punjab and the rest of India to visit our students again - until then, these photos will remind me of the incredible experience India is. Enjoy!
