Ghana Trip 2007

12-26 February 2007

We decided to take our vacation a bit early this year, on account of an invitation we received from Karin's Uncle Tom and Aunt Mary to come visit them in Ghana, and to attend the dedication ceremony for the Anufo New Testament project they've been working on for the past 26 years. (To see the photos from the dedication ceremony, click here.) So Karin and I, along with Pat, hopped a plane or two and headed out to West Africa last month!

We met up with some fabulous travelling companions - two pastors (Dan Sollie and Roger Knudson) who were also friends of Tom and Mary, two Peace Corps volunteers from Benin (Jennifer Anderson and Judy Chang) who were on a vacation of sorts (Jennifer's parents attend Tom and Mary's home parish in Wisconsin), and finally, Philip Hewer and Graham Smye, who are also working on the translation project with Tom and Mary. Together, this motley crew spent the next two weeks travelling around Ghana, visiting cities, villages, game parks, and beaches together.

The photos in this gallery are also links to full-size images - click on any of the photos to get full-sized photos suitable for making prints. Also check out my Dedication Ceremony and my Mole National Park galleries!

On one final note - I'll be going back to add captions to these photos Real Soon Now - feel free to email me if you want to know what anything is.
