This animation depicts trowal topography as represented in a surface of constant equivalent potential temperature located near the warm edge of the baroclinic zones.  The trowal topography is colored from red (near-surface) to blue (upper-troposphere).  In this particular case, the 309 K surface is used in the full-physics case, while the 299 K surface was used in the case without latent heating.
